Supporting Our Veterans

A strong national defense is built on the character, courage, skill and dedication of our men and women in uniform. They give their best to our country, and Congressman Dreier has worked hard to ensure that the federal government gives them its best. He is committed to the more than 2 million veterans who call California home – and all United States veterans. Supporting our veterans is especially important during a time of war.
Congressman Dreier has been proud to vote for more funding and improved benefits for veterans. That is why he voted to make sure the Veterans Administration got a historic $4 billion in additional funds this year. He has also voted for expanded and improved veterans’ services and benefits including education, job training, benefits to dependents and benefits to disabled veterans.
Congressman Dreier also firmly believes that the contributions made by our veterans to our nation must be preserved for future generations. To record veterans’ wartime experiences, he sponsored the second annual Veterans’ History Project. The histories and materials collected in the district will be housed in the Library of Congress.
- Congressman Dreier is commitment to providing improved education benefits for returning Veterans. That is why he voted to modernize the G.I. Bill to give Veterans a full four-year college education and to allow them to transfer unused benefits to their spouse and children.
- Congressman Dreier voted to reimburse veterans receiving emergency treatment at in non-VA hospitals until they can be transferred to a VA hospital. Congressman Dreier also voted to provide funding to improve access to healthcare, and dedicate funding to construction of Veterans facilities.
- Congressman Dreier voted to provide a 3.9 pay raise for ALL members of the military.
