Supporting Our Troops and Veterans

A strong national defense is built on the character, courage, skill and dedication of our men and women in uniform, and the families who support them. They give their best to our country, and Congressman Dreier has worked hard to ensure that the federal government gives our troops the support and resources needed to succeed.
He is also committed to our nation’s veterans, including the more than 2 million veterans who call California home. Congressman Dreier has been proud to vote for improved benefits for veterans. That is why he voted to make sure the Veterans Administration received $5.4 billion in additional funds this year. He has also voted for expanded and improved veterans’ services and benefits including education and job training, as well as benefits to dependents and disabled veterans.
In addition, Congressman Dreier firmly believes that the contributions made by our veterans to our nation must be preserved for future generations. To preserve veterans’ wartime experiences, he is a sponsor of the Veterans’ History Project, which records oral histories and collects materials including letters, photographs and other memorabilia. The histories and materials collected in the 26th District will be housed in the Library of Congress for all generations.
