Health Care

The United States is home to the best health care in the world, and Congressman Dreier is committed to making it more affordable and accessible to all Americans. He strongly believes that quality medical care, patient choice and groundbreaking research are the foundation for a healthy society.

One of the major challenges facing Californians today is the increasing cost of health care and health insurance. Congressman Dreier has consistently voted to lower health-related expenses and make health insurance more affordable and accessible.

  • Congressman Dreier recently supported legislation to increase the reimbursement rate for doctors who accept Medicare. This legislation will ensure that seniors have continued access to physician services offered through the Medicare Program
  • Congressman Dreier voted to create the Medicare Part D Drug benefit program to provide an affordable prescription drug benefit for our seniors.
  • Congressman Dreier voted to block several harmful Medicaid regulations that would have impacted health care services in California and cost the state $5 billion over the next 5 years.
  • In order to help provide better access to health care for working families in California, Congressman Dreier has authored legislation that would provide a $7,500 deduction for individuals and a $15,000 deduction for families to purchase healthcare.
