DREIER HONORED FOR ENERGY STANCE
Congressman Dreier was recently honored by the grassroots free-market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) as a “Friend of the American Motorist.” Dreier’s strong record in favor of producing more American made energy and opposing measures that would further drive up the price of gas earned him the recognition. Dreier said more American made energy just makes sense for working families. “We are far too dependent on foreign oil and that is the reason for this energy crisis. I am proud of my record to promote a sensible energy policy that includes conservation, alternatives, and responsible domestic exploration. I thank American for Prosperity for their work to help American motorists and for presenting me with this award.” Congressman Dreier is a co-sponsor of the American Energy Act, H.R. 6566, which provides conservation incentives, encourages increased domestic refinery capacity and exploration, promotes alternative energy resources.
