Congressman Dreier will be commemorating Memorial Day 2008 at events throughout the Foothills this Monday, May 26, 2008.

Dreier said Memorial Day is an important time to reflect on the sacrifices so many families have made for our country and our freedom.  “It has been said that ‘Freedom is not Free.’ That is what Memorial Day commemorates – the price that has been paid for our freedom.  The ultimate sacrifice has been made by soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Guardsmen and their families for many generations.  We have men and women on the battlefield today confronting a war against radical extremism.  This Memorial Day, I hope all Americans take a moment to honor those who are serving and remember our fallen service members and the families they left behind.  For them, every day is Memorial Day.  They need our gratitude and support.”
